A Brief History of the Agri Guide: On January 14, 2008, the first meeting of the Mahoning Valley AgriBusiness Focus Group was held to share ideas and identify ways to expand the agricultural market in the Mahoning Valley. The group, consisting of local producers and representatives from several schools, agricultural organization, and local agencies, identified important goals which could help to enhance the local agricultural market.
The most import goal the group identified was to publish a guide to Mahoning Valley Agriculture, which consumers could use to identify producers and service providers in the Mahoning Valley.
Well, just over five months later, on June 29, 2008, the group proudly introduced the Mahoning Valley Agri Guide 2008 at an ice cream social. Jeanne Starmack of the Vindicator attended and wrote an article which appeared in the Vindicator on Monday June 30, 2008 (Click on the word "article" if you'd like to read it.)
